Protection and control

Measures that help protect your clinic’s information

Security is supported by technical and organisational measures that help control access, record activity, and maintain backups for information recovery.

These measures work alongside each clinic’s responsibility to configure permissions, protect credentials, and keep team access up to date.

Access

HTTPS connections, users, and passwords

Virtualcenter uses HTTPS for connections to the application. Each person signs in with a username and password, allowing staff to use separate accounts.

Clinics should protect credentials, avoid shared accounts, and update access when someone no longer needs it.

Permissions

Access limited by responsibility

Roles and permissions help limit access according to configured responsibilities. Defining those profiles is part of preparing Virtualcenter for each organisation.

The application also records user activity within Virtualcenter to provide traceability of its use.

Infrastructure

Application deployed in a European region

The application is deployed on Heroku and configured in a European region. Virtualcenter uses a MySQL database and a separate backup system.

Backups

Daily backups retained for 60 days

Daily backups are created using database dumps. They are retained for 60 days and stored separately from the application.

The restoration process has been tested to confirm that backups can be used for recovery.

Shared responsibility

Clinic configuration matters too

The clinic decides who needs access and which permissions each person should receive. Reviewing active accounts, using careful passwords, and keeping roles current supports the available controls.
